First Styling Gig In the City

  1. Last week I had my first fashion gig in the city! I worked as an assistant wardrobe stylist for a Soma Magazine shoot. It's set to be a hefty 8 page spread of wearable art! I'll post the official photos here when the next issue arrives! Until then, here are few unofficial pics I snapped at the shoot! Enjoy!

Karen O Goes to FIT

You tell me! Ha. I've officially transfered into the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), which was the predominant reason for me moving to NYC. The school is empowering. The faculty is extremely competent, though not very fashionable.. haha. Altogether, it's incredibly refreshing to be around fellow students with true passion for the industry, and not those that slump to class in sweat pants that proudly announce "Pink," where most don't care to gaze. :)

Ladies & Gentlemen... It Has Begun!

Welcome to my wonder-filled blog!

As a woman who shimmies and shakes for the cause of self-expression, this venture is well overdue! For those of you who don't know, this Southern fabulist has begun a new life in New York City! I invite you to follow my adventures as I chase dreams, spend money I don't have on life-changing vintage clothing, and try to prepare my humid sub-tropical based body for the coldest New York winter in years (thanks, El Nino)!.. all while wearing red lipstick, of course. It's gonna be a riot. ;)
